The Sting Ray blade is the smallest surface of the three. It is popular for recreational users or sea touring
where a smaller framed person desires less force to move the paddle. Where power is required, the paddler
will speed up the cadence.

The Manta Ray is a blade shape that is a little wider than the Sting Ray, and provides more pull with each stroke
(like a higher gear on a bike). Entry level kayakers who are paddling short wide recreaional boats might perfer
this blade shape. But this depends on the size, strength and stamina of the paddler. The Manta Ray's larger
blade shape is ideal for those interested in fitness or racing.

The Eagle Ray is a blade shape intended for longer distance sea touring. The blade is 2" longer than the
Sting Ray and provides a little extra pull for moving a heavier loaded sea kayak. The slightly largersurface area
helps with bracing and rolling.

For 2005 AB had announced a new series of paddles known as the  Sting Ray with fiberglass shafts started at $149.00 pr and the Eagle Ray series with carbon shafts on white blades ($189.00Cdn.) to full carbon blade and shaft offered at $239.00Cdn

The black blades: These are made using the same polythalamide material as that found in the white blades, only this time it is reinforced with carbon fibres. What does this mean? As with the white blades - tough, but also a little stiffer and lighter. The black blades come with only with carbon shafting.

Found standard on all of AquaBound's Recreational and Touring paddles, this unique ferrule features a glass reinforced nylon material. Grooves on the ferrule prevent the build up of sand and sludge, maintaining a tight, trouble- free ferrule for years!

TRIPPER -only one new unit left in stock! 230cm. 2 piece w/ fiberglass shaft.
The 2005 Tripper was designed for long trips and for carrying heavy loads. Offering superior handling in windy conditions, this blade is also ideal for lightweight paddlers who do not have the strength or stamina to use a full size blade.

The white blades: These are made using a fibreglass reinforced polythalamide material. What does this mean? Tough. Blades don't wear down, edges don't get ragged. The white blades come with either AMT aluminum or fibreglass shafting.

The black blades: These are made using the same polythalamide material as that found in the white blades, only this time it is reinforced with carbon fibres. What does this mean? As with the white blades - tough, but also a little stiffer and lighter. The black blades come with only with carbon shafting.
