Beaver Canoe Club offers "Basic Paddlers" course with certified instructors, free ...if you join the club for $20.00 per adult. Montly meeting takes place at Burnaby Club House (Sprott & Kensington) on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Guest speakers discuss trips and canoeing experience on flat water and whitewater.

Also the Dogwood Canoe and Kayak Club has a weekend training program and one evening in the pool for rescues. Clubs promote safety practices and group trips and activities... good value for very little cost. Club meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the Wesburn Community Centre in Burnaby.

Sea Kayak Association of B.C. meets the first Tueday each month at the Vancouver Museum. The group offers courses, guest speakers and demonstrations in survival, outfitting for sea trips etc.
