Whitewater canoes & Outfitting Accessories w/ layout plan

Outfitting for white water canoes is a very exacting process that ensures a reliable recovery from capsizing with floatation bags that remain well anchored inside the hull even in the strongest currents. Please view our line sketch for suggested layout of D-ring anchors.

We offer outfitting accessories for flatwater and white water canoeing. Just a set of knee pads makes a huge difference in comfort and control in difficult conditions. D-ring anchors are used to attach floatation bags or gear for tripping. Check our stock of airbags and note:- some are one of a kind.
safety gear includes North Water throw bags with 1/4” or 3/8” diameter float rope.

We continue to have a White water , injection moulded plastic paddles from Aqua Bound. We stock 63 inch, which we will cut to your desired length. Allow one extra day for finishing. Price $109.95 plus applicable taxes.

Whitewater canoes

White water canoes are built for manoeuvrability with more rocker (curvature from bow to stern) and fuller ends for buoyancy in standing waves in rivers. Most of these canoes are built in plastics, the Old Town’s Crosslink Polyethylene or Royalex, a 5 layer composite of vinyl outside layers, ABS plastic and foam core inside. The plastics will flex and not crack open so easily, when impacting river rocks. Inside these hulls, we glue down D-rings to hold floatation air bags in place, if the canoe capsizes. Glued down knee pads make an important contribution to comfort and control for the paddler. Every canoe requires painter ropes (that float) attached bow and stern to be grabbed by the paddlers of a capsized canoe, in rapids.
